ESTATE SALES NOT ALLOWED

In one sense this is a mea culpa epistle. A few weeks
ago I received a telephone call from a broker who
advised me that I had granted permission two weeks
before to have an estate sale of home goods and
furnishings in one unit in The Landings, she had
advertised such sale in the newspaper, and now the front
gate would not let people in to attend the sale. I had
no recollection of granting permission for such a sale.
What I did have was a vague recollection of speaking to
someone who called and asked for permission to sell a
house; my mental reaction was, "What are you calling me
for? Anyone can sell a house," and I guess I said
something like, "Sure, you can sell a house." In any
event, not wanting to put a kibosh on what I might have
mistakenly previously granted permission for, I
permitted that particular estate sale to go forward.
Having done that, I wish to say that it was a
mistake! ESTATE SALES, GARAGE SALES AND SIMILAR SUCH
SALES ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE LANDINGS. The fact that
it was mistakenly done once does not establish a
precedent that it may be done in the future in another
unit. I trust that everyone will keep the foregoing in
mind.
